Amazing Things.

When I was in the States, I prayed to God and asked him to use me to do amazing things! Due to circumstances in my life, God has built a faith inside me that has allowed me to rely completely on Him. This dependence on God brought me to South Asia to serve, and through serving, I was able to fulfill God’s will and He answered my prayer! My job description called and required me to teach 70 students in a small village located high in the Himalayas and through teaching, I was able to develop a relationship with the teachers and administration. This new and amazing relationship allowed me to be very bold in my spirituality, so I arranged to have a party and I told them I would be showing the “JESUS” film. I had invited about seven or eight people to come, but 20 people showed up for the video! We watched the movie, and then we ate our meal. Afterward, I stood up and asked my national partner to join me. From there I began to explain the creation story and why Jesus had to die. After I finished, my national partner began to give his testimony. The crowd erupted in applause when he finished. The rest of the week, people in the village were asking for Bibles and videos, so they could learn more about Jesus. Although these people are very nice and hospitable, that’s not enough to get into the kingdom of heaven. Join me in prayer so that these people may find the way to salvation.

See For Yourself.

I had heard back at home about the 10/40 Window and how there were people who had never heard about Jesus, but I rarely thought about all the lost people there or prayed for their salvation because I was so caught up in my life and school. When I came here, I saw how Hindus do all these rituals to please their gods. Some Hindus could not answer why they prayed to these gods or did the rituals. My heart truly began to realize the emptiness in their religion and that they live in fear of their gods. Now I have a passion to pray for these lost people, because I have seen it with my own eyes.

Physical & Spiritual Poverty.

Our team had the opportunity to go into slums where only a couple of weeks after people were killed by heavy mudslides. As we trekked up the hills, the spiritual poverty seemed to move my heart more than the physical poverty of the people. My heart ached to see where houses once stood – all built on sand pitched on the side of the hills. In that instant, I longed to share the story of the man who built his house on the sand. I just wanted to scream that Christ is the only true foundation. The Bible seemed to come alive in a way that it never had before. We saw men carrying yokes that held fruit or other things to sell in order to feed their families. I wanted them to see Christ and His promises that His yoke is easy and His burden is light. These people need rest for their souls. Their eyes, veiled by Satan’s lies, spoke of their need for Christ’s blood. Pray that God would remove this veil so that they, too, may see full in His wonderful face.

Running Out of The Word.

John 16:23-24 really came alive to me while I was in Nepal. We hiked up to a small village. We brought many copies of the Gospel of John and Nepali Bibles to hand out. After the first two weeks there, we hadn’t had any opportunities to share. The third week, we decided to show the “JESUS” film to this village. All this time, we had been building relationships, and now we began to pray — and pray hard — for an opportunity to show the film. My partner and I continued daily to look at scripture and pray for Christ to call these people to salvation. Jesus says in John that whatever you ask for in his name, he will give you. The last week there, we showed the film, and 20 villagers came to watch it. After the film, we talked to these villagers and shared the gospel. We felt God moving in this village. The next day we ran out of Bibles to give them, and the people kept asking questions. God was so faithful to answer our prayers.
